P.S.

I just realized my last two posts have been about food, and have been posted after midnight.

What can I say, I'm hungry.

oh cheese

I just found out that April is national Grilled Cheese month!

So...

HAPPY GRILLED CHEESE MONTH EVERYONE!

Here are some recipes for you to ENJOY

Here are tips for Enjoying the Perfect Grilled Cheese Sandwich ( note; I did not spend all this time writing these.)

Use real butter. Nothing beats the flavor and its ability to create the ultimate golden toast for your sandwich.
Butter the bread, not the pan. Butter will be more evenly distributed which ensures a properly crisp sandwich.
When using dense breads, slice them thinly so that the heat can penetrate and melt the cheese.
If your budget doesn't allow for expensive cheeses, condiments can easily punch up the flavor.
Grate or shred the cheese; it will melt faster.
Press the sandwich with a spatula after it's been flipped to help create the perfect even spread of cheese.
Use a nonstick pan instead of cast-iron – the sandwich is less likely to stick to the pan, which makes clean-up much easier.

And finally, here are some interesting Grilled Cheese facts for ya...

Due to its superior melting factor, American cheese is the most popular cheese chosen for a grilled cheese sandwich. Cheddar and Swiss take second and third places, respectively. (Mintel's Menu Insights)

About 22 percent of U.S. households serve grilled cheese sandwiches at least once in a two-week period. (The NPD Group, Inc.)

Lunch is the most popular meal for a grilled cheese – 64 percent are consumed during this meal. (The NPD Group, Inc.)

In 2004, a grilled cheese sandwich bearing the image of the Virgin Mary sold for $28,000 on eBay. The owner saw the likeness toasted onto the sandwich and kept it for 10 years before auctioning it on the site.

Americans make 2.2 billion grilled cheese sandwiches at home each year. (www.slashfood.com)

Brilliant

I am for sure making these for Josh G.'s birthday.

I am not sure if mine will be this amazing, but I can dream.

Mail time!

I just walked out to my mailbox and it felt like it was my birthday. I love getting mail more than anything in this world, and so just feast your eyes upon what I got today!

That's right, my shoes came from my online target order, domino magazine, CB 2, Paper Source, Vogue, and In style

( well to be fair, the instyle went to my parents house... but it was just as exciting.)

I love mail!

Sometimes...

About every other day I like to frequent a little website called Kate Spade. I dream about owning anything from Kate Spade. My favorite part about the website is that you can visit a section called behind the curtainI don't know why, but I could spend an hour looking at it. I love seeing other peoples creative ideas, and sometimes stealing them for my own selfish gain.

Go ahead, male or female, you should click on the link. It's gorgeous.

My name is Katie, and I have a problem

Here is another more recent, random fact about me;

Daily I read over 100 different Blogs... 18 of them are people I actually know. I have them broken down into 6 different groups

Great Photos
Peeps I know
Divine Design
Celeb Updates
Making and Baking
The "W" blogs
( and yes, I do think I am quite clever with the names)

Lately my favorite feature of my bloglines account is the special feature called "related feeds" It tells me what other blogs I will like based on the ones I already subscribe to. It's brilliant but deadly.

I really do spend countless hours reading about stuff that is really not that important.

I hope...

I really hope that when I have a child it is at least this cool.

random fact # 2

Here is another random fact about me...
I really love fonts. I tend to browse through dafont.com at least once a week and just download the newest ones. I don't care what they are called, I love fonts.

My top 5 as of today are as follows;

A yummy Apology
A font with Serifs
Always Joking
Laundromat 1967
Patterns and Dots

I don't know if you know this...

I stole this idea from Allison H. and I think it's rad. I am going to start sharing some random facts about myself, that you may, or may not, know about me. Here it goes...

Random fact # 1:

Did you know that when I was in 7th grade I was in a c-group where Ryanne was my leader? And then in 8th grade Alanna became the co leader of the group? These women were HUGE influences on my life, and I am so excited that we are friends now! I think it's amazing that now here we are 9 years later, and I am a bridesmaid in Alanna's Wedding, and such great friends with Ryanne and co workers with both of them. For those of you who are small group leaders now of teenagers, just know that the work that you are doing in those young girls ( and guys ) lives, MATTERS. Every postcard, letter, flower, phone call and hug I received from Alanna and Ryanne is stored in my memory. This is something that is really special to me, I love you ladies. Thank you for helping to guide me through the hardest years of my life, and staying with me only to become some of my best friends. I love you both!

*note: not all posts will be this sappy. This is just the first one I could think of.

If I was a dentist....

Well, let's start over. I would never be a dentist, work for a dentist etc. BUT if somehow I did, this would be how I would advertise my dentistry.

I heart Rob and Big

There is a show on television, that is unlike any other, and tonight it will end, forever. Big is having a baby, and so he has to leave the show to be a Daddy, and Rob can't do the show alone.

Rob and Big, has made me laugh every Tuesday at 10:30 pm for the last two years.

Tonight is the series finale, and I am emotional.

Here are some pictures of Rob and Big Black... just soak in their awesome-ness.

I need to be alone.

I literally passed out...

Today I went to the doctor to have a wart removed for the third time ( sick, I know) and this is how it all went down,

First off I was placed next to a man, we were seperated by a curtain, but he was having something on his finger cauterized and I was so grossed out. It was smelling like burning flesh and I wanted to scream. By the time my doctor came over to help me I was beyond nauseous. She had to burn the little wart devil three times, and it was PAINFUL. I started to feel woozy after the second application of the burning magma, but shook it off.

When we were done, I was following her to the nurses station to check out, I don't remember anything but smacking into the desk.

When I awoke, I was in a wheelchair with about 7 nurses fanning me with magazines.

I had passed out.

Cold.

Smacked so hard into a desk and fell.

There were giant red throbbing marks on my feet and shins from slamming into the desk and I had to go lay down.

I survived my first passing out experience, and I don't want to do it ever again.

yikes.

Just to cheer you up.

Giddy up.

Apparently...

People really like to blog about me. If you want to read about me, or my hair, or the places I have been this weekend, you should.

I am really cool.
