Taffys challenge

Taffy has challenged us to make a top ten list for 2007, I am making up my own... here we go.

Top Ten reasons why I feel more like a grown up;

10. I live on my own.

9. When I am hungry, I have to find or make my own food.

8. If I break something at my apartment , I am not scared someone will be upset with me, because it's all mine.

7. If I want to stay out til 5am, I can, though I never have.

6. When I feel like laying on my couch for hours and watching veronica mars, I can.

5. I walk to the mail box to get mail that is all pertaining to me.

4. I had my very own christmas tree this year, that I decorated.

3. I take the freeway to work, I don't know why that makes me a grown up, it just feels more grown up.

2. I bought my own fast pass.

1. I don't have to ask anyones permission to do anything.

Cheers! I want to know what Bethany's top ten are because she is my new roommate!

Thank you

Dear people.com,

I really appreciate the picture you posted of my friends Courtney and David Arquette at Disneyland.

Dear Melanie Hughes,
Thank you for finding this gem.

I love celebrities.

If I were an Arquette....

This would be our holiday picture...

I decided after this experience that I would not do well at any award show, celebrity event, or move set... I clammed up and smiled the whole time.

Though the best part of meeting Monica, I mean Courtney, was that she was changing into some black boots, and if you watch friends at all, you would laugh at this too.

I almost asked her if her boots were filled with her blood.. then decided against it.

If you dont know this episode, you should. "The one with the boots."

Some real exciting news...

I met some very awesome people today.

I will explain later when I have the picture to prove it.

Really Toll Roads, really?

I read this in the paper today and my response was " really toll roads, you're really going to charge the fire fighters money for saving your toll roads?" " REALLY?"

Toll road to fire fighters: Pay toll or pay fine
Los Angeles County fire engine told to pay up for using the 133 toll road during recent fires.
By ELLYN PAK
THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER
Comments 21| Recommend 26

When Engine Company No. 116 received a $100 fine from a toll road agency, firefighters figured it was just a misunderstanding.

Capt. Bob Viers of the Los Angeles County Fire Department was tasked to sort it out with the Transportation Corridor Agencies. An L.A. engine had traversed the 133 Freeway without paying last month on an assumption that emergency vehicles are exempt from paying such tolls.

"You know this is a fire truck," Viers told a tollroad representative. "I can't believe you're fining us for it or even chasing it."

The engine company, based in Carson, fought the Mt. Palomar Fire in San Diego for nearly a week. Viers said the truck that used the 133 was either on the way down to the fires or attending a fireman's funeral.

But the toll road agency didn't back down. The firefighters would have to pay.

The TCA assesses a $47.50 processing fee on top of the toll amount due if notices are ignored. A subsequent violation notice tacks on an additional $47.50 fine.

Viers talked to a manager, who said the firefighters had to pay $20 instead of $100.

"I still thought that was ridiculous," Viers said.

Ultimately, Viers had the fine knocked down to $5 and charged it to his credit card.

"I just thought that was kind of strange," he said. "For me the easier way to get rid of the hassle was to pay the guy."

Thank a soldier....

Thanksgiving is right here and I started thinking about all of the soldiers who will be fighting to keep me safe, while I enjoy a hot homecooked meal with my family.

I remembered a girl who set up an organization called a million thanks and so I went on her website to see where I could send a letter. Her newest headline said that I could send a text message straight to a soldier and thank them for everything that they are doing.

This is super easy and will mean so much to someone, it's not a scam, and it won't cost you any more than a regular text message.

Cupcake <3 er

For those of you who know me well, know I love cupcakes. I love to bake them, I love to eat them, I love to look at them.

Exciting news in the cupcake world...

#1. Williams Sonoma now sells the mix to sprinkles cupcakes. For $14 you can buy a package of heaven. My flavor of choice; peppermint chocolate.

#2. There is an actual blog for cupcake lovers....check it out

I have an idea

I love the game where a bunch of friends sit around in a circle and one begins telling a story then passes it onto someone else eventually creating a really big ridiculous story. For example, take friends A B C and D, they are all sitting together in Peets, because I love Peets. Person A starts off with " one time I was sitting at the beach and... Person B takes over with " and a giant fish jumped out and whacked me in the face with his tail and then... Person C takes over and so on...

So I was thinking, blogging is a lot like sitting in a circle of friends, I want to tag one person to take off from my sentance, write their own, then tag someone else.

*Before you write your post, mention who tagged you, that way you can catch up with the story... leave me a comment if you "storied" and at the end, I will post the finished story.

Let's try this...

" This one day I was sitting on a park bench in the middle of central park. An elderly couple walked by me and..."

God is so good

Seriously, God is so good.

The Best News Ever . . . It's Triplets, a Boy and 2 Girls!
The Ladera Times has learned that Chris and Lori Coble, of Ladera Ranch, who tragically lost their three children last May in a horrific accident on the I-5 near the OSO Exit, are having triplets. "Yes, it is true. I am six weeks along and they expect me to deliver in early to mid-May," Lori told the Ladera Times. "We had to do it by in vitro fertilization and it worked the first month. They extracted 14 eggs from me and out of all of those after all sorts of genetics testing, three eggs were good, two girls and one boy. We took that as a sign and we put all three in." The odds of all three eggs attaching were only 10 percent, according to Lori who added, "It turned out, we are one of the lucky 10 percent." Although the Coble family is very excited about the pending birth, Lori said it is a bittersweet blessing. "These children will never take the place of Kyle, Emma and Katie, but it does give us some hope for happier times in the future." Lori and Chris Coble are shown in the photo here taking part in the dedication of the Heroes Memorial in Town Green last Memorial Day. All of Ladera Ranch joins the Ladera Times in wishing the Cobles their prayers and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy. More details will be posted as it becomes available. In the meantime, of you want to comment on this story or leave a message for the Cobles, click on Reader Feedback. (Story and photo by Jim Schmitt, Editor and Publisher)

PAINT TIME!

My roommate Kiva and I decided to spice things up a bit in our apartment and paint it some fun colors. We decided on a tiffanys blue for the kitchen and a tan for the living room. That morning we went to home depot only to figure out we knew nothing about paint, not how to buy it, not how much we needed, nothing! So Kivas mom came, and not only helped us pick everything out, but bought it all for us!

From there, the day just kept getting more amazing. We came back to the apartment to find that our wonderful boyfriends had gone out shopping and made us a homemade pizza complete with appetizers and our favorite soda ( Kiv's is izzie, mine is black cherry)

Then, starting to freak out a little, the boys told us to go out and relax, go shopping or just out, and they would paint the whole place! What a deal! So we headed out to target, linens and things, bed bath and beyond and golden spoon.

We got back to the apartment and yelled" move that bus!" and there was the most beautiful paint on the walls, and the boys were all done! We were so happy and so thankful!

It gets better, after we were done, Kiva's boyfriend Tom, starts to whip us up some dinner! FAJITAS!! ay yay yay!

We ate delicious food, let our paint dry then went and saw heartbreak kid ( awful.)

The end of the night, was all furniture was moved back, shelves were up and it looked so amazing!

YAY for boyfriends and paint!

Thanks boys!

This is for Amy Branley

Amy has requested that I breakdown all of the television shows that I watch on a regular basis because she enjoys my reviews so much.

So this is for you Amy

ANTM ( If you don't know what this stands for, move on)
Love the show. This season, eh. Not really any strong contenders. I love Heather, she is a strong courageous woman. Model? not sure yet. So sad that (spoiler alert) Sarah was kicked off, I thought she had a lot of potential.

Greys Anatomy
Best season so far. Christina is my new favorite. Numbering her interns, genious. Auctioning off her wedding gifts for chances to be in suegeries, awesome, the fact that she can cry now, beautiful. Izzie is annoying, yes she got George, but their whole situation is a little sketchy and I am not sure I like the whole treating marriage with such little respect aspect. Callie, Amy I know you love her, but she is falling apart, her and Britney need to hang out. Kerev is turning out to be a character I truly enjoy, Addison really did a number on him though. Cheif, needs his wife back. End of story. Miranda is the bomb. I want her to be my therapist sometimes.

The Hills
Honestly I can't believe I dedicate 1/2 hour every week to watch this show. I always get to the end and think, what did I just watch? Did anything really happen? The answer is no, but you will always find me monday nights 10:00 with Kelsey and Kiva(Sometimes B Bear) enjoying a helping of the lovely Lauren Conrad and friends. Lauren is mean this season, she needs to get herself an identity and stop ruining every one of her friends relationships. Heidi is gorgeous this season, but she and Spencer need a little more communication, I mean are they engaged or not? Come on. Audrina, lose Justin Bobby, or fun Bobby, whatever his name is. Hes a loser. Lo, come back, you are the only one I love. Whitney, Can I have your wardrobe please?

The Office
Now here is a show. Drama-Check. Action-Check. Humor-Check. Romance-Check. Mystery-Check. So much fun to watch. Dwight and Angela are psychos. Pam and Jim are meant to be. Kevin is hilarious. Toby... so sad. Michael is a mad man. Stanley always makes me laugh. Meridith and Kelly are nutso. What a show... comedic genious.

Jon and Kate plus 8
Ok. You think you are stressed, busy, overworked, underpaid? This mom has two 6 year old twin girls and six 2 year olds. OH MY GOSH. Still she is loving, caring, patient and so organized. Such a woman. (Nothing compared to you though mama) They still manage to have pancake breakfast every saturday and church every Sunday.

I think I am addicted to television.

This is joy. And I love waking up filled with it.

Road Trip!

Brandon and I decided(while waiting in line for tortillas at Disneyland) to drive out to Sedona, Arizona for the weekend to visit my grandparents who were vacationing there. I thought the drive was about 5 hours and it would be so easy. Well, the drive was 9 hours, but so much fun! We borrowed a fun book of questions form my good friend Ben, and we laughed and talked and took tons of pictures!

Highlights from the trip:
-Denny's in Arizona, so sick. Waiting 45 minutes for cold food, doesnt sound fun, but when you're so tired, everything is funny.
- Hanging out with 4 older people all weekend
-Off road jeep rides through the mountains
- Bi Plane tours while it is raining
- Making fun of thousands of dollars worth of crappy statues
- eating at the "nice restaurant" with Grandma and Grandpa
- visiting all the tourist sites I havent really ever looked at, even though I used to visit every year.
- 8 dollar coffee and cold bagel breakfast
- tourist shops
- fight during ping pong which turned into really fun game of Raquetball in which Brandon broke the ping pong racket.

What a random and fun trip!

Suprise Suprise!

Ok, so my favorite movie is fever pitch, well one of them. In this movie one of the girls has a birthday party and the theme is the great gatsby, and I thought this was super clever. One night Brandon and I are watching the movie and I mentioned that it would be fun to have this as a theme for a party. Skip forward 6-7 months, and for my 20th birthday party BRANDON THROWS ME A SUPRISE TWENTIES THEMED PARTY!

It was such a magical night, with tons of friends, great food from the Sarge, and a huge cake!

Enjoy the pics...

I love you B! Thanks for all your hard work family! So sorry I was such a B word!

boys night

Family night turned into boys upstairs playing video games and the women down stairs watching home movies.

RIP

You were faithful through all weather. You let me throw you across floors and pool decks. You let me use you as a headband at times, and you never complained. You were free, which was awesome. I rescued you from a lost and found and made you mine. And now you're dead, because of me. I am so sorry.

The plunge from my purse onto the driveway should never have happened, that was not the way you were supposed to go.

Thank you sunnys, thank you.

I went to disneyland last night and it was super fun. A little crowded but nothing that a churro can't cover up... we went on haunted mansion ,Indiana Jones, Buzz and waited in line for space mountain until it broke down.

I had a persona best on Buz with a score of 135,400, so I had a little celebratory moment when the camera came... thanks for a great challenge Kel.

It was a slow song, I was laying down.
Some friends and I went to the Gwen Stafani concert the other night and I give it a 6 out of 10. She picked a lot of slow songs to play which was silly of her.

We were also the back corner of the lawn where it was -30 degrees and a little windy.

Apparently leaving early because we missed the No Doubt reunion which would have been awesome. We heard it from the parking lot though....

thank you Sarah for my b day present from 2006. You are the bomb.

Bitten

Ok, as a huge fan of Oprah, I saw an episode a while back featuring Sarah Jessica Parker talking about her new clothing line. Everything in it is under $20.00, crazy right? I am talking shoes, handbags, jackets and jeans, nothing is over twenty bucks.

So I did some investigating. Her stuff is being sold at Steve & Barrys, which is a store I thought only existed in Michigan, but apparently there is one at the block?! Interesting.

Anyway, all that is to say, I logged onto her website to check out the line, and its fantastic! Looks amazing, and is guranteed to be quality clothing.

So, tomorrow being saturday, and my day off, I will be checking out this sweet new line.

You should too!

This summer

I decided this morning that I need a vacation. Bummer that my family is going on one and I have to stay here and work...but I really want to try and take one.

These are my top three ideas for something fun to do...

San Diego Zoo... granted that is about an hour away.. but, it could seem like a vacation if I went to the zoo and then stayed with a friend who lives in San Diego for the weekend... see where I am going with this one?

Six Flags... This just seems like a vacation because you have to drive so stinking far.

Yosemite... I would like to camp at yosemite this summer with a bunch of friends. This would be the only real choice on my list that seems like a vacation.

Anyone up for a trip?

So Crazy

So last night I was thinking about how many weddings I have been to at such a young age, and most of them being my friends!
All of them have been so fun and most of the weddings I have been to are people who are in the blogging world... so I thought I would share a few of my favorite moments with these fun people and my hopes for all of the upcoming summer weddings...

It all began with Taffy and Sues.... what a great night! My favorite part of this night was playing a table game at the reception. What a great idea to get everyone involved and having fun. And look at them now.. little Lea is here!

Brittany's....such a fun wedding. Great food, great entertainment, but my favorite moment by far was watching Allison H and Matt H ( not married) sing I got you babe.... great moment you two.

Then it was Ryanne's....beautiful and charming wedding. So many fun ideas integrated into one night. Two moments this night were my favorites, one being that right when they were announced, the clock tower bell went off..... you can not plan that! So fun. the next being the amazing dancing that followed. Serioulsy, I was right back in junior high with all of that rap music....

Ok so now that I type it out, it has only been three, and the other ones were family... darn. But I do have two coming up, one being a girl I have known since second grade! Her wedding is on July 7, 2007.... so I am thinking with such a once in a lifetime date like 7-7-2007, their wedding should be special!

Coming up this friday is such an exciting one for me.... John and Mariah's wedding is going to be so fun! I remember asking Mariah if she loved him in her car one night after service... and then at Glenn Ivy, Sarah and I asked her if she had ever kissed John, and she laughed.

Seriously, weddings are so fun.

what are your favorite wedding memories?

The Land Of Legos

Yes it's true, I have now taken my first trip to Lego Land. For our team outing day, we decided to go to LegoLand. It was awesome. Kind of a bummer that most rides you must be 13 or younger, but no sweat, we spent the day walking around, checking out all the cool stuff and even riding " the claw."

Here are some fun pictures from the day....

notice, the make out legos, the matt jensen look alike knight, and the official ride picture.

The level five of Amy and myself, represents the highest level you can choose to ride on for the most awesome ride of all time. Literally, you feel like someone has thrown you into a washing machine and let you go.

It's hard to explain, you need to go, just for that ride.
